H.O.R.S.E. Poker is not actually a poker game but an acronym for five different poker games. In fact, it’s not really a traditional acronym since only two out of the seven letters are the first letter of the poker game. But still, it is nonetheless considered an acronym. The games are: Texas Hold’em; Omaha; Razz; Seven Card Stud Poker and Seven Card Stud Eight or Better. When playing a H.O.R.S.E. tournament the games in the event in each round varies, beginning with Texas Hold’em and ending with Seven Card Stud Eight of Better. In one H.O.R.S.E. game, you just switch games each round.

How to Win H.O.R.S.E. Poker

It would be a good idea for anyone playing H.O.R.S.E. poker to practice all five of these games and try and become an expert in each one. It’s no good just focusing on one of them as you have to master them all to win H.O.R.S.E. So the game is really best for top poker players as one has to be good at so many of them. How The Individual Games Are Played

In H.O.R.S.E. poker, seven card stud eight or better is played hi-lo, as is Omaha. Razz is a lowball version of seven card stud. And with Texas hold’em and seven card stud, you are looking at the high only version of the game. So there is a lot going on and mastering these games in different levels is crucial.

Most Challenging Aspects to H.O.R.S.E

It has been said that seven card stud or better is probably the most challenging part of playing H.O.R.S.E. Played in a hi lo version, it is the one that requires the most sound head to play. Even though it initially seems perhaps the easiest of the games (as the practical way of playing it isn’t really difficult), the way it is structured seems to overwhelm a lot of players. The different fields in the tournament are further broken down in to player groups of players (those who play all games); specialists (who just play the selected games they’re really good at); game players (those who think they’re specialists but actually aren’t). The game can just get quite complicated because of the different types of players involved even though it may initially seem pretty straightforward.

Tips on H.O.R.S.E Poker

At the end of the day however, the better the player is at Texas hold’em poker, the better off they will be in H.O.R.S.E poker. The other four games require much less skill and go at a slower pace so to win H.O.R.S.E. make Texas hold’em your prime focus.
