Michelle began playing poker seriously, just four years ago, in 2005. Prior to that, she played with local actors and actresses in different spots around Los Angeles. After entering and winning her first tournament in Las Vegas, she has not looked back. One year after making a real go in the industry, (2006) she was asked to join the national broadcast at Bluff Radio, where she provided coverage for World Series of Poker events on Sirius Satellite Radio. In 2007, Michelle she was the on-camera host for Pokernews.com. She then went back to broadcasting WSOP Events where she interviewed players, amongst other duties.
Tiffany Michelle would also make a mark as an actual player and not just a host or commentator. In 2008, she proved that she had game by placing 17th out of 6,944 players at a WSOP Main Event. This gave her the distinction of becoming the first female to place that high in such a large field. Today, she is a member of the Ultimate Bet’s Star Player Team. Not bad for someone who has only been really involved in the industry since 2005.
Tiffany Michelle and The Poker News Controversy
Michelle’s career has not been without controversy, as she was accused of breach of contract by Poker News when she signed with Ultimate Bet after the former (Poker News) sponsored her in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Tiffany would claim that while they did indeed act as her sponsor for the event, she did not sign an exclusive agreement with them and was thus free to sign with other companies. Poker News obviously countered these claims and was extremely upset at what they viewed as a serious and unprofessional breach of contract. This was big news at the time and there was talk of law suits. Today, Tiffany remains a member of Ultimate Bet.
Tiffany Michelle is one of the most well known, up-and-coming female poker stars in the game. If she has her way, she will be noted for much more. As stated at the beginning of the article, she is also quite involved in acting, modeling and music. She has even appeared in few popular sitcoms. Based on how well things have turned out so far for this gifted, female poker player, the odds of that her future (in whatever endeavor she chooses) becoming a success are great. Tiffany Michelle is definitely a role model for young women looking to play poker and follow their dreams, whatever they might be. She has not restricted herself to one profession but instead is looking to make full use of all of her talents. The future for Tiffany seems bright, exciting and eventful.
