All craps proposition bets go to the craps stickman, which means you have to make sure to get his or her attention first before throwing the chips in.
All craps proposition bets go to the craps stickman, which means you have to make sure to get his or her attention first before throwing the chips in. Lets look at the variety of craps proposition bets you can choose from.
Single roll Craps proposition bets:
Single-roll or proposition bets have a result in a single shooter roll and includes:
2 (Aces or snake eyes): Wins if shooter rolls a two.
3 (ace-deuce): Wins if the shooter rolls a three.
Yo: Wins if the shooter rolls eleven.
12 (midnight or boxcars): Wins if shooter rolls a twelve.
2 or 12 (hi-lo): The stickman places this bet on the line dividing the 2 and 12 bets and it wins if shooter rolls a two or twelve.
Craps proposition bets: Wins if the shooter rolls two, three or twelve.
C & E Craps proposition bets: is a combined bet, the player is betting half their bet on craps and the other half on yo (eleven). One of the 2 bets will always lose, but the other may win.
Any 7: You win if the shooter rolls a seven. This bet is also nicknamed Big Red, since the seven on its betting space on the layout is usually large and red.
Field craps proposition bets: is a wager that 1 of the numbers 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12 will appear on the next roll of the dice. Unlike the other proposition bets, which are handled by the dealers or stickman, the field bet is placed directly by the player.
Horn craps proposition bets: is a bet that involves betting on one unit each for 2, 3, 11 and 12 simultaneously for the next roll. The bet is in actual fact 4 separate bets, and pays off depending on which number is rolled, minus 3 units for the other 3 losing bets. Many players will make a five-unit Horn High bet, which is a four-way bet with the extra unit going to one specific number. This is in order to eliminate the confusion of tossing 4 chips to the center of the table or having change made while bets are being placed.
Whirl or World craps proposition bets: is a 5-unit bet that is a combo of a horn and any-7 bet, with the idea that if a 7 is rolled the bet is a push, because the money won on the 7 is lost on the horn portions of the bet.
Remember to place clear craps proposition bets as nothing is quite as irritating and slows the game like a craps stickman chasing checks and then having to ask to whom the craps proposition bets belong and what they want. You don’t want to annoy the craps stickman or the other players.
