Playtech Lands Intelligent Gaming Solutions (IGS)

Online gaming software company, Playtech appears to be about to enter the land based casino market with the purchase of Intelligent Gaming Solutions. Renowned for its dealings in online gaming software solutions, the online gaming software provider Playtech seems to be on the verge of entering the land based casino market. It is reported that Playtech has agreed to purchase the company Intelligent Gaming Solutions (IGS) that deals with casino software systems for land-based casino locations. The deal is believed to involve a total amount of ₤5.5 million that includes the sum of ₤2.5 and an additional amount with a ceiling of ₤3 million, depending on revenue in the next three years. IGS is a software provider for land-based casino operations. Among IGS's developments are casino management systems that handle slots, poker and table games. This purchase therefore places Playtech in a business arena that corresponds well with its existing operations and is expected to enhance Playtech's cross-platform options. Established in 1999, Playtech is one of the early online gaming software providers. Playtech is today one of the leading companies in the field and is listed on the London stock exchange. This company holds licensing agreements with large operators such as William Hill and Betfair. The range of products featured in the Playtech collection includes an online poker network, online casino software, bingo, live gaming and mobile gaming options and a progressive gaming network, among others.  In addition, Playtech offers various services to its clients, such as customer support, fraud prevention and financial services. With years of experience in online gaming software, it now appears that Playtech will branch into the land based casino scene.  Taking into consideration this new deal with IGS, it appears that an approach into cross-platform options is on the cards.
