Playtech and bet365 Show Interest in gambling.com

It appears that both Playtech and bet365 are possible suitors of the attractive domain name www.gambling.com that is up for sale. Media Corporation, an online casino and advertising company, has put the domain name, gambling.com, up for sale.  Media Corp., based in London, purchased the name in May 2005 for approximately ₤12.9 million. It is believed that the company attained about ₤3.5 million in advertising revenue during the year following the purchase of the domain name.  It seems that the value of the domain name has dropped rather drastically since this time due in part to online gaming restrictions in the U.S. that occurred in 2006.  However, this name still boasts an approximate 300,000 hits each month with a top ranking on Google for the search word 'gambling'. The sale of the name gambling.com has been placed in the hands of Sedo Holdings that deals with the auctioneering of domain names. Sedo anticipates a sale price of approximately ₤6.5 million while the reserve price stands at ₤5.8 million.  It is reported that Sedo boasts experience in this field and is the company that sold the popular domain name www.sex.com two months ago. This sale was made for the huge amount of ₤8.4 million. Speculation mounts that Playtech Ltd. and bet365 are among the interested parties for the purchase of this domain.  Playtech Ltd. is one of the major online gaming software providers that offer its products and services to different operators and companies around the globe. Bet365 is one of the large online betting giants in the world today and deals with sports betting, casino gambling, poker and bingo in addition to other games. It is apparent that the acquisition of this gambling.com domain name would be beneficial to either of these companies.
